Lorenzo Brown, defendant, was found guilty of misdemeanor theft (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1975, ch. 38, par. 16 — 1(a)(1)) after a bench trial in the circuit court of Cook County and was sentenced to 6 months in the Cook County Department of Corrections. He was also charged with the offense of criminal trespass to a vehicle (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1975, ch. 38, par. 21 — 2), but was found not guilty on that charge.
