The defendant was initially charged with larceny in the first degree in violation of General Statutes §§ 53a-122 (a) (2)1 and 53a-119,2 and criminal coercion in violation of General Statutes § 53a-49 (a) (2). Following a jury trial, he was convicted of the lesser included offense of larceny in the third degree in violation of General Statutes § 53a-1243 and acquitted of the coercion charge.
