REAVLEY, Circuit Judge:

Agha Kaleem Ullah Khan (Khan) appeals from a conviction of conspiracy to possess heroin with intent to distribute and possession of heroin with intent to distribute. See 21 U.S.C. §§ 841(a)(1), 846 (1976); 18 U.S.C. § 2 (1976). Khan argues that he was deprived of his right to compulsory process under the Sixth Amendment by the district court’s failure to recess the trial until a codefendant’s guilty plea had been accepted.
