Appeal from an order of the Supreme Court (Hughes, J.), entered July 23, 1999 in Albany County, which granted defendant’s motion for summary judgment dismissing the complaint.

Plaintiff commenced this action to recover damages arising out of an ankle injury sustained by her daughter, Emmalee *527Kane, who tripped and fell during an indoor track practice conducted in a hallway in defendant’s high school building.
