On tlie 3d of March, 1892, the United States of America, through its Secretary of the Interior, acting under the authority of an act of Congress, executed its lease to S. H. Stitt & Co. (a firm composed of S. H. Stitt, Samuel W. Fordyce and Albert D. Gaines), demising the ground and premises upon which the Arlington Hotel, in the city of Hot Springs, was situated.
