Introduction

After defendants were indicted by grand jury on two counts of conspiracy against trade in violation of the Cartwright Act (Bus. & Prof. Code, § 16755) and other offenses, the trial court granted their motions to suppress evidence under Penal Code section 1538.5 (further section references are to the Penal Code unless specified otherwise). Defendants successfully argued such evidence was illegally seized in a general search or developed as a result of that illegal search.
