Billy Johnson appeals from a judgment convicting him of attempted murder (while armed), aggravated battery (while armed) and resisting arrest, and from an order denying his motions for postconviction relief. He was sentenced to a total of forty years on the charges: twenty-five years for *48attempted murder and fifteen years, consecutive, for aggravated battery.2
