FEINBERG, Circuit Judge:
Suat C. Torun appeals from a sentence under the Federal Youth Corrections Act, 18 U.S.C. § 5010(b),1 after his plea of guilty to an information charging him with possession of cocaine in violation of 21 U.S.C. § 844(a). The plea was taken in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York before John R. Bartels, J., who also imposed the sentence. The appeal is based upon the apparent anomaly that 21 U.S.C. § 844(a) provides for a maximum jail term of only one year, but because Torun was sentenced under the Federal Youth Corrections Act (FYCA)…
