The plaintiffs in this case are thirty-six past, present, and potential employees of the Monroe County Department of Social Services [the Department], The complaint, which requests class certification, alleges employment discrimination on the basis of race, sex, and national origin, and seeks relief under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 42 U.S.C. §§ 1981 and 1983, and the fourteenth amendment.
