The appellee, James Linwood Strickland, for whatever else he may lack, suffers not for want of chutzpah. 1 Strickland set out to bribe Judge Sylvania W. Woods, a District Court Judge in Prince George’s County. The purpose of the bribe was to have Judge Woods show leniency toward a friend of Strickland who had a case pending before the judge. Contact with the State’s Attorney was promptly made by Judge Woods. Apparently, the judge was asked to play along with Strickland until the actual payment of money occurred.
