Plaintiff in error was convicted in the criminal court of Cook county of the murder of Isabella Scheckley and was sentenced to death. The deceased resided with her son, Louis, in the city of Chicago, at 1405 West Marquette road. On May 28, 1925, plaintiff in error came to her house, shot her twice through the head, killing her almost instantly, and shot her son, Louis, three times, though his wounds were not serious.
