SMITH, Circuit Judge.

Calvin James was indicted on one count of bank robbery, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 2113(a). James filed a pretrial motion to suppress and an amended motion to suppress evidence recovered during police searches of two motel rooms and his person. The district court 1 denied the motions. After trial, a jury convicted James of the bank robbery. James moved for a new trial, renewing his challenge to the use of evidence obtained from the searches.
