The Pratt Chuck Company is a corporation engaged in manufacturing and selling drill chucks and other steel products at Frankfort, New York, and produces steel scrap as a waste, or a by-product. Steel scrap is classed in the trade as “ light ” and “ heavy ” steel scrap according to its thickness; that which is one-quarter of an inch or more in thickness being known as heavy scrap. The company had many departments — a cap department, a chaplet department, the cable department, and a fork and hoe department.
