The plaintiff brought this action against the defendant, both of whom are residents of the State of Florida, to recover the amount of a judgment obtained in the Circuit Court of Florida. The action was commenced on the 21st of October, 1896, by lodging the summons and complaint with the sheriff of Abbeville County for service. On the 24th of October, 1896, said sheriff made a return, stating that, after diligent search, the defendant could not be found in his county.
