This is an appeal by Larry E. Turner of his conviction for the offense of attempted murder. After being found guilty by a Shelby County jury, he was sentenced to life imprisonment without parole.
The record shows that, on the night of March 19, 1986, Officer Rickey Wash of the Pelham Police Department observed a pickup truck traveling at a high rate of speed. He tried to stop the truck, but was unsuccessful. He pursued the truck in his police car and, eventually, the vehicle entered onto Interstate Highway 65.
