The appellant, Arthur E. Bedding, was convicted of rape in the circuit court of Harrison County, and from the judgment of the court sentencing* him to life imprisonment in the state penitentiary he appeals to this Court.

The prosecutrix was 23 years of age and had been married twice, and had two children. She was divorced from her first husband and was separated from her second husband. The crime was alleged to have been committed on March 16, 1950.
