MEMORANDUM OPINION

Before the court is the objection of the Chapter 7 trustee to the homestead deed filed by the debtors, Harry Heath and Margaret Heath (“the debtors”).

The debtors, husband and wife, filed a joint voluntary petition under Chapter 7 of the Bankruptcy Code on November 7, 1986. Two days earlier, on November 5, 1986, the debtors had executed a homestead deed pursuant to Va.Code § 34-4, exempting various items of personal property valued by the debtors at a total of $9,664.
