*964 ¶ 1 Following a jury trial, defendant, Dennis Jaimes, was convicted of first degree murder but acquitted of aggravated discharge of a firearm. The jury also found that the State failed to prove that defendant personally discharged a firearm that caused death. The trial court subsequently sentenced him to 30 years' imprisonment.
