This is a suit for declaratory judgment seeking a judicial interpretation of a purchase option clause contained within a long-term lease contract affecting some 95,000 acres of non-contiguous timberlands situated in five Louisiana parishes.1 The plaintiff-appellants are Denkmann Associates, Den-miss Corporation and 48 individual mineral distributees (hereafter, collectively referred to as “Denkmann” or “plaintiffs-lessors”).
