The plaintiff and defendant were married on June 10, 1967 and are the parents of three adult children. The parties separated in October of 1990 and have not cohabitated since that time. *126A complaint in divorce and an affidavit pursuant to section 3301(d) of the Divorce Code were filed by plaintiff on October 12,2005. A special master’s hearing was held on June 15, 2006.
