This is a jury discrimination case. At issue on this appeal is the order of the district court denying plaintiffs an award of attorneys’ fees pursuant to the Civil Rights Attorneys’ Fees Award Act of 1976 (the Act).1 Under the Act, prevailing plaintiffs should recover reasonable attorneys’ fees for vindicating the public’s interest in an end to discrimination unless special circumstances render an award unjust.
