About 12:45 A. M. on March 12, 1953 the plaintiff drove his 1951 Buick automobile in a southerly direction on U. S. Route 51 in the city of Oglesby, Illinois, and collided with the rear portion of defendant's trailer. At the time of the collision the trailer was attached to a tractor driven by Joseph Meador.
