MACK, Associate Judge:

Appellant challenges the decision of the trial court, granting a motion for summary judgment against him as plaintiff in this action for personal injuries. We affirm.

The relevant facts are these: On May 24, 1976, appellant was a member of the Metropolitan Police Department’s Harbor Patrol. That day, he responded while on duty to a radio call requesting his assistance at the scene of a boating accident in the Anacostia River.
