Appeal from the Circuit Court of St. Clair county; the Hon. William H. Snyder, Judge, presiding.

1Opinion of the CourtJustice Sheldon

This was a bill for dower in certain lands described in the bill, exhibited December 20, 1873, by Catharine Padfield, as the widow of Thomas Padfield, deceased, against William B. Padfield, one of his children. Complainant was married to the said Thomas Padfield January 19, 1869, he being then 77 years of age, and in April following he conveyed the lands described in the bill to the defendant, complainant refusing to join in the deed. The answer admits complainant’s right of dower in one tract containing 100 acres, but denies it in two tracts, one containing 160 acres, the other 38J acres.
