The defendant William Piazza stands convicted by a jury of arson in the third degree, conspiracy in the second degree and criminal solicitation in the second degree, all relating to the incendiary destruction of a commercial building owned by his father, Sam Piazza.1 The Trial Judge had imposed consecutive indeterminate terms of seven and three years on the arson and conspiracy counts respectively and granted an unconditional discharge on the one for solicitation.
