Following a jury trial, defendant was convicted of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, MCL 750.520b; MSA 28.788(2), and was sentenced to a term of from ten to thirty years in prison. Defendant appeals as of right, raising four claims of error.

Defendant first argues that the trial court erred by ruling on the admissibility of evidence of defendant’s prior convictions after defendant had testified on direct examination, and by allowing the prosecutor to choose which of defendant’s prior convictions would be used for impeachment.
