The complainants filed their bill in chancery for an injunction, in the St. Clair Circuit Court, to the March term, 1860, (an injunction having been granted by the judge in vacation,) alleging, that the complainants were all citizens of St. Clair county, and residents of the Cahokia common field; that by certain ancient grants under the French and English Colonial Government, confirmed by acts of Congress under the Confederation, and under the present Constitution, and by the Constitution of the State of Illinois of 1818, and various Acts of the General Assembly of Illinois, the inhabitants…
