The relator sued out a writ of habeas corpus on the ground that the warrant for his extradition to California was improperly granted by the Governor of this State. As appears from the papers, the relator was convicted in that State of the crime of grand larceny and after serving nearly two and a half years of the sentence imposed upon him, he was released on parole by the California State Board of Prison Directors, with the direction to immediately proceed to the State of New York for a period of one year, pursuant to an offer of employment by the American Press Association, made through John…
