Dear Mr. Bonvillain:
We are in receipt of your request for an Attorney General's opinion on the validity of certain tax exemptions currently permitted by the Louisiana Tax Commission (LTC). Specifically, you note that the LTC presently provides an ad valorem tax exemption of 60% on the drilling and completion costs of oil and gas wells in Louisiana.
