Dear Senate Giles,

¶ 0 The Attorney General has received your letter asking for an official opinion addressing, in effect, the following questions:

1. Pursuant to Oklahoma Constitution Article V, Section 17A,when does the 12-year term limitation begin for legislators? 2. Do the provisions of Oklahoma Constitution Article V,Section 17A apply to years served as a Legislator prior to theeffective date of this provision?
