On the twenty-sixth of December, 1854, the State of Tennessee granted to Jno. L. Webb and J. W. Howard, by grant No. 23,685, a tract of 5,000 acres of land lying in Perry county. On the fourth of March, 1855, the said Webb and Howard conveyed the same land to the Newcastle & Danville Railroad Company. On the seventeenth of May, 1861, the railroad company conveyed this land to John B. Hamilton. On the twenty-eight of November, 1866, the latter conveyed to Looney &Wright against whom the vendor’s lien was enforced, and at the sale, had on April 17, 1871, Isaac Milner became the purchaser, and…
