Plaintiff, Joseph Colucci, and Joseph Colucci, doing business as Park-side Motors, filed a three-count complaint in the Circuit Court of Cook County based on allegedly defamatory statements made by defendant,' Chicago Crime Commission (Commission), a private, not-for-profit corporation. Each of the first two counts sought injunctive relief and $1,000,000 in damages. The third count asked only for $1,000,000 in damages. Defendant filed a series of motions seeking summary judgment (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1971, ch. 110, par. 57(2)), and that, for various reasons, plaintiff’s complaint be dismissed.…
