This negligence action arose out of an accident which occurred on the evening of May 4, 1990, when a car driven by defendant apparently collided with plaintiff as the latter attempted to cross a street. After issue was joined, defendant moved for a protective order to, inter alia, excuse her from submitting to an eye examination and from divulging certain optical records requested by plaintiff.
