In this action John Lang, the plaintiff, brought suit against the defendants, Francis Siddall and Phillips Petroleum Company, for damages because of personal injuries which he claimed were caused by the negligence of the defendants. The facts of the case are that said Lang, about noon on December 17, 1931, accompanied by his wife and sister, was driving southward in his Chevrolet coupe on what is known as First street in the town of Laurens in Pocahontas county, Iowa.
