Appeal from a judgment of the County Court of Albany County (Rosen, J.), rendered January 16, 1997, convicting defendant upon his plea of guilty of the crime of attempted burglary in the second degree.

After pleading guilty to the crime of attempted burglary in the second degree in satisfaction of an indictment which charged him with burglary in the first degree, but before sentencing, defendant wrote a letter to County Court indicating his desire to withdraw the plea.
