Appellant was convicted below of conspiracy, of making false written statements in connection with the acquisition of firearms, and of falsifying federal forms; he seeks a new trial — not on the basis of insufficiency of the evidence— but on four grounds: that he was deprived of a fair trial by virtue of the Government’s introduction of “voluminous, irrelevant and highly prejudicial evidence” in connection with its proof on the conspiracy count; that a question asked by the Government of defendant on cross-examination was so prejudicial as to require a new trial even…
