The plaintiff, Carol Dregne, brought an action in the circuit court of Cook county against the defendants, the Five Cent Cab Company, the Yellow Cab Company, the Chicago Yellow Cab Company, Inc., the trustee of the Chicago and Northwestern Railway Company, and the railway company itself, to recover damages for personal injuries sustained while riding as a passenger in a taxicab in Evans-ton. At the close of plaintiff’s evidence, the Yellow Cab Company made a motion for a directed verdict, its motion was allowed, the jury returned a verdict, as directed, and judgment was rendered accordingly.…
