Appellee, as plaintiff below, ineti tuted this suit against the Southern Kansas Railway Company of Texas and the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway Company to recover damages for injuries to a shipment of cattle from Canadian, Texas, consigned to the George R. Barse Livestock Commission Company at Kansas City, Missouri. The plaintiff alleged generally that the cattle were negligently delayed and roughly handled en route, by reason of which they presented a bad appearance and lost in weight and declined in price.
