Tom R. Evans (defendant) has appealed from an order denying him relief pursuant to section 72 of the Civil Practice Act (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1977, ch. 110, par. 72). Defendant sought relief from a portion of a judgment entered against him awarding Joseph A. Thorsen Company and James Cemy (plaintiffs) $65,200 compensatory damages and $50,000 punitive damages.
