OPINION
BURGESS, Justice.
A jury convicted Cary Staley of possession of crack cocaine. Staley pleaded true to having a prior conviction and the jury assessed punishment at fifteen years’ confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice—Institutional Division and a fine of $6,000.
