This antitrust suit was brought by the government against the American Telephone & Telegraph Company and a number of its subsidiaries on November 20, 1974. For about three and one-half years, little factual development occurred, largely because discovery was stayed pending resolution of jurisdictional issues here, in the Court of Appeals, and in the Supreme Court.
