This was a hill in chancery, originally filed in the name of the People of the State of Illinois, for the use of the Moredock and Ivy Landing Drainage District, No. 1, in Monroe county, Illinois, against Josephine Gauen and George A. Gauen, her husband, to foreclose the lien of said drainage district upon certain land of the defendants for assessments thereon, made for the purpose of constructing the drainage system of said district, and certain assessments or taxes levied for the purpose of keeping the same in repair.
