The homicide complained of in this case appears to have occurred in the year 1909. The indictment against this defendant charging him therewith was not preferred until the February term, 1922, of the circuit court of Jefferson county, in the Bessemer division thereof. The deceased named in the indictment was one Bettie Price, and the evidence discloses that she was a young girl just budding into womanhood at the time she was killed.
