On the fourth day of January, 1871, one S. J. Walker, the owner of the north-east quarter of section 25, township 39, north, range 13, east of the third principal meridian, subdivided the said tract into blocks and streets, and made, and caused to be recorded in the office of the recorder of deeds within and for the county of Cook, a plat showing such subdivision. The record of the plat was destroyed in the great fire in Chicago in October, 1871.
