|/The defendant, Troy Ray Lewis, was convicted of possession of crack cocaine, more than 28 grams but less than 200 grams, in violation of La. R.S. 40:967(F)(l)(a), and distribution of crack cocaine, in violation of La. R.S. 40:967(A)(1).1 For the possession of crack cocaine conviction, the defendant was sentenced to 25 years’ imprisonment, with the first five years without benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence, and fined the mandatory minimum of $50,000.00.
