Robert Lewis Clark appeals his kidnapping conviction, contending that the trial court erred in failing to grant his motion for directed verdict because of a fatal variance between the indictment and the proof. He also asserts that the trial court denied him his right to represent himself at trial because he needed hearing transcripts and legal materials; failed to enforce witness subpoenas; erred in allowing prejudicial hearsay testimony; and erred in allowing the State to comment on the witnesses’ credibility.
