Appellant, a female Marine Private First Class, was convicted, pursuant to her pleas of guilty, of a short unauthorized absence and six specifications of possession, sale and transfer of marijuana, in violation of Articles 86 and 92, Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), 10 U.S.C. §§ 886, 892. The military judge sentenced appellant to a bad-conduct discharge, confinement at hard labor for three months, forfeiture of $290.00 per month for 3 months and reduction in grade to E-l.
