¶1 Scott Hensrude bought Joel Sloss’s Ferrari from a consignment dealer. Sloss regained possession of the car after reporting it stolen when the dealer failed to pay him. Hensrude sued Sloss, alleging that he was the rightful owner under the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC)1 entrustment doctrine and that he was entitled to possession and incidental damages resulting from Sloss’s wrongful detention.
