Casey McWhorter was convicted of capital murder for the death of Edward Lee Williams; he was convicted under § 13A-5-40(a)(2), Ala. Code 1975 — murder committed during the course of a robbery in the first degree. By a vote of 10-2, the jury recommended that McWhorter be sentenced to death.
