According to the allegations of the petition, the assessed property was worth not to exceed $1,000, whereas it was assessed by the assessor at a valuation of $4,000. The assessor did not call upon the plaintiff, nor did he notify the plaintiff in any manner of the assessment. The plaintiff accordingly did not sign the assessment roll, nor did the assessor give her a written notice thereof, both as required by statute.
